How to wind my skein into a ball?

Accepted Answer

Before working with your skeins you’ll need to wind them into balls; you do not want to deal with the mess created from working straight off a skein. To make winding easier the use of a swift is recommended. If you do not have a swift you can get creative by stretching the skein around the back of some chairs, or I know from experience that another person's hands will work in a pinch.

Is there variation within dye lots?

Yes!
 
If you order more than one skein of the same colourway I will ensure that the same dye lot is shipped to you. Note variations will still exist, even within the same dye lots, for hand-dyed yarns and it is recommended to alternate between skeins to blend the coloring.
I currently dye in batches of 2 to 5, so if more than 5 skeins are ordered, I may need to ship you two different dye lots that will be very close to each other.
